Be welcoming? Show kindness and compassion?
No! Self defense must be the Hellene’s goal.
This new, naive (some say progressive) fashion:
To rescue every body and each soul,
Must surely of a nation take its toll.
They once repulsed the pushy Persian tossers.
It wasn’t in their nature to console
Darius and King Xerces for their losses.
The Persians now nail Christians to their crosses;
They blindly follow leaders cruel and mad —
Fanatical, insane, barbaric bosses;
Yet for their plight today’s Greeks should be sad?
The ancient Greek admired the free and brave;
He thought the Persian, to his King, a slave.

Doubting Couplets

Let’s all be nice and save their souls.
They’ll fill us full of bullet holes.

They left their land because of war.
But all young guys? You’d that ignore?

Their culture will enrich our own.
Their scimitars they like to hone.

They’ll make our nation more like theirs.
A bombed out mess where no one cares?

Acknowledge your irrational fear!
I understand beheadings dear.

They’ll fit in well, you racist dunce.
They thought that in the Balkans once.

Well yes – he beheaded a preacher;
The act of a criminal creature,
But the motive we lack,
For in each vile attack
There’s no singular defining feature.

Old Europe is failing in health.
Malignancy eats at her wealth.
Prescribed for her pain –
Ice, hashish, cocaine;
The cancer advances by stealth.

Frau Merkel? True – not a class act.
Yes, leadership Germany lacked.
She ignored the debate
As she opened the gate;
The Germans fled – Berlin was sacked.

The Frenchmen are in full retreat.
Whenever the Muslims they meet,
They recoil in fear
And advance to the rear.
At least they are quick on their feet.

Frau Merkel – Oh dear, what a mess!
What’s your motivation? – my guess
Is that you may be bad
But more likely just mad,
Or perhaps you just couldn’t care less.

“Germany on the Brink” – in the New York Times…yikes!

Relax – what could possibly go wrong?
“Don’t worry, be happy…..” – that song
Goes round in my head;
Under covers – in bed,
I just wait for the end……won’t be long.

Only another million…..

Americans, hey! – have no fear.
Those Syrians? – watch Barack sneer.
(Who is he obeying?)
Remember the saying –
He’s keeping your enemies near.

Who are We?

“That’s not who we are!” – so say some;
A statement dreamed up by the dumb.
But that’s not the worry,
As refugees scurry,
It’s rather……. who we may become.

That’s not who we are
