The (Very) Silent Majority

They are the great majority, we’re told;
No need to worry – they are on our side.
They’re all contented sheep within the fold;
No wolf amongst them wears a woolly hide.
And all the men who’ve made such claims have lied,
And still about these peaceful lambs they lie.
By all, such allegations are denied.
(Although there’s evidence one can’t deny.)
So innocents who walk the streets will die,
And few amongst this flock will say a word.
Their shrouded shepherds they will not defy;
They will not bleat – no protest will be heard.
They tell us they are all opposed to hate;
And yet, this virtue, seldom demonstrate.

An Acceptable Diagnosis

An Acceptable Diagnosis

“Allahu Akbar”? – We’ve heard that before.
And “Jihad”? Oh yes, that’s Islam’s holy war.
But terror had nothing to do with your acts;
So listen while we explain some of the facts:
You say you’re a martyr – but that’s not the case.
The problem is that you are in a bad place.
You’re just a lone wolf who is missing his pack;
Your alienation, it made you attack.
If that’s not enough, there’s the other excuse –
That evil addiction – your substance abuse.
So it’s not religion – it’s all in your mind;
Here’s the diagnosis the doctors have signed.
They’ve heard your confession – they’ve studied your brain,
And they all agree that you’re merely insane.

Welcome Home!

The U.K. it welcomes you home!
The Middle East no more to roam.
Our home-grown Jihadis
Are heroes – not baddies;
The Holy Koran is our tome.

U.K. bans conservatives – welcomes back Jihadis

These attacks – they are not aberrations,
But the death throes of fiendish failed nations
With no care of the cost
For they know they have lost
In this clash of two civilizations.

Desist from abuse, all you haters!
Stop calling them names, you race-baiters!
Although we’ve a crisis
And they fight for ISIS,
We have to go easy on traitors.

In the past we would go overseas
To confront and defeat enemies.
There’s no need now to roam;
We can fight them at home.
(Yet our policy’s still to appease.)

Relax, settle down and be calm.
There’s no need to sound the alarm.
Cover your ears and eyes;
Oh, you think they tell lies?
So does the enlightened Imam.

Don’t choose anger, crave vengeance, or hate.
Embrace love, and appease and placate.
Just go on as before;
Keep no guard at the door;
Carry on, people – accept your fate.

Express sorrow and woe.
(But don’t mention the foe)
Carry on with hashtags,
And with memes and with flags;
Carry on, and just go with the flow.

The chances of this happening to me?
They’re minuscule as far as I can see.
The odds are really rather long;
Stiff upper lip – I’ll carry on;
I doubt I’ll win the terror lottery.

The Paris vote? – Ninety percent
For Macron – yep that’s how it went.
The French are so lame
They want more of the same
From Manny – a deadly portent.
