I understand your need to wreck our town.
I really do, for I can feel your pain.
It isnโ€™t fair, so smash it โ€” burn it down!
Youโ€™ve naught to lose and everything to gain.
Itโ€™s not your fault, your wrath you canโ€™t contain.
I fully understand why you attack
Those who have more than you โ€” youโ€™re not insane!
You pull a knife โ€” they shoot you in the back!
Oh sure youโ€™re high on fentanyl and crack;
But that is due to racism of course.
Youโ€™re tortured daily โ€” stretched upon the rack
Of Trumpโ€™s America โ€” that evil force!
In short, we Democrats support your hate โ€”
So let the home fires burn โ€” youโ€™re doing great!

They wish to claim you as their holy place,
And so insult the name of Ataturk.
Towards a callous caliphate they work.
Thus your magnificence they would deface โ€”
Remove the images of Christ that grace
Your ancient walls. Islamic forces lurk
Within your state. That wise and mighty Turk,
(Whose legacy these fiends wish to debase)
That founding father, would have brought them down.
But heโ€™s long dead, and now a false Sultan
Sits on his phony throne and makes his claim.
But disregard the rantings of this clown โ€”
Holy Cathedral, work of Western Man,
Youโ€™ll stay a church in everything but name.

On my shoulder a large chip I bear,
And I scream at the world: โ€œItโ€™s not fair!โ€

But your chip you embrace,
For the facts youโ€™ll not face.
I suggest that you just, โ€œgrow a pair.โ€

The Reactionary Someone

When someoneโ€™s pursued by a pack
Of rioters screaming โ€œattack!โ€
When someone is chased,
A fact must be faced โ€”
That someone is bound to fire back.

Megalomaniac Dan,

Heโ€™s a regulator.
A home-grown dictator.
A Stalinist goon with no plan!

There isn’t enough water to wash clean
The evidence of murder โ€” all the blood.
The body, once in white, stripped and obscene;
This One, this fashioner of fire and flood,
Who moulded us from cold primeval mud;
Weโ€™ve pierced His heart with scienceโ€™s shining blade โ€”
No longer will we hearย its mighty thud.
The steady beat of ages soon will fade
As in his grave the slain Creatorโ€™s laid.
And with what laws will we His laws replace?
And by whom will morality be made?
Who will bestow upon the people grace?
You say, within, these virtues must be found;
But Supermen are thin upon the ground.

Michelle Obamaโ€™s blessed with empathy;
Sheโ€™s not at all a scheming racist witch!
And all those who have heard her would agree,
Michele Obamaโ€™s blessed with empathy.
(To hear her speak theyโ€™ve paid a handsome fee.)
No matter that sheโ€™s privileged and rich,
Michelle Obamaโ€™s blessed with empathy!
Sheโ€™s not at all a scheming racist witch!

Stop blaming others for the way you feel;
Your enemies reside inside your head.
You wish to get back on an even keel? โ€”
Stop blaming others for the way you feel.
Imagined wounds, youโ€™ll find, will quickly heal,
When foes whoโ€™d thwart you are no longer fed.
Stop blaming others for the way you feel;
Your enemies reside inside your head.

With the government they disagree.
They are dangerous โ€” man canโ€™t you see?
They wonโ€™t do as theyโ€™re told!
They are far, far too bold!
Is it wise to let such fools run free?

They must be confined for their own good.
Theyโ€™re a threat to the whole neighbourhood!
They must be forced to stay
In a camp far away โ€”
Felling trees, mining coal, chopping wood.

I believe that itโ€™s been done before,
To reactionaries who broke the law.
The new rules they must learn,
Else donโ€™t let them return;
Theyโ€™ll be prisoners โ€” prisoners of war.

They are known for their glumness and gloom โ€”
Scandinavian prophets of doom.
So itโ€™s strange now to say
That they went their own way โ€”
Theyโ€™re that damned elephant in the room.
