Wow, Dennis, what a work! It’s got to be more work than a novel because, not only do you have to make your characters realistic and get all your facts straight and in order — but you have to do it with meter and rhyme. I salute you. I didn’t see a place to comment on the page where the poem is actually posted, so I came back here to do it. Makes me want to go “Whew!!!” when I get to the words “The End.”
It started out a few years ago just covering the 3 main battles of the Persian campaign and was called “Three battles”. I decided to cover from when Alexander was made King until he died so the poem is probably now twice as long. Well done reading it to the end – I did so last night for the first time and it took me half an hour.
It’s a great history lesson, and as I read some parts I remembered studying them in history class. So I’d give you an A+.
