I heard Rush Limbaugh today, saying that he had been “courted” for years by big names in all sorts of ways and meetings to give his support to a new immigration policy but he always stood fast against it. Then, one day on his program, he made them an offer, that he would support a new policy IF it contained the provision that they couldn’t become citizens for 20 years and couldn’t vote for another 5 years after that. He had no takers.
If the US is anything like Australia in this regard (and I think it may be) it is being made difficult for the right kind of immigrants and easy for the wrong kind.
