What happened to the villain who’s just bad?
The crook who is corrupt right to the core.
Bad – whether his upbringing rich or poor.
Turns out he was mistreated when a lad,
And underprivileged – had a nasty dad,
So Hollywood must now his past explore,
Excuse his disregard for life and law,
And paint him as a victim – wronged and sad.
I think more likely it’s an evil gene,
(If so then it is doubtful they are rare)
That makes a creature menacing and mean,
Devoid of sorrow, empathy or care;
A microscopic cellular defect,
Hard wired, not learned – the cause of the effect.
