I’m feeling just a little blue,
A prophecy is coming true.
Democracy’s near death I guess,
The mob is voting for largesse.
There’s been a smash, there’s been a crash,
So capital they want to trash.
Although there’s nothing else that works;
They’re full of hate these leftie jerks.

I’m afraid you’re right. Here in the U.S. a growing number composed of unions, including public ones, and those on the government dole in other ways are becoming the majority, fed by ignorant masses in the inner cities. There will be a time here when there will be no way to stop them.
Alexander Fraser Tyler wrote:
“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can exist only until the voters discover they can vote themselves largesse (defined as a liberal gift) out of the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that democracy always collapses over a loose fiscal policy, always to be followed by a dictatorship.” – take heed the US and Australia!
Oh so true Dennis. Well expressed…love the last line 🙂
Good day from Tasmania Dennis,
Trust all is well in sunny Qld?
I great little rhyme and I can’t help but thinking “Tony Abbott Chancellor of the Republic of Australis” as I read it… *groan* ~ or perhaps Her Royal Munificence Julia the Redoubtable…! *Eeeek*
Perhaps, in its own way and time, a little revolution is a good thing, No?
Regards,
T.
And hello to Tassie – love the place. In an ideal world I would spend summers in Tassie and winters up here. Revolutions? If history is a guide they are generally to be avoided.
